I've just re-validated CompTIA, the easy way.  Could be a blog later?  I'm also checking that updating my website is as simple as planned (yup, a couple of seconds :-) ). I'll post full website setup build instructions, hopefully before I forget how I did it.

Eek, I've just been charged over £60 per month for fibre after falling out of contract.

Just made a call and managed to arrange a new contract half the price of the last one with full fibre.  Please make the call to your provider and say that you fancy leaving unless they fancy giving you a discount.  You can call your provider whether you're in contract or out of it because there's always better deals available.

What will I do with over ten times the speed I have now?  I don't really need that speed and why would anyone?  Well, I guess it's a great excuse to pretend I'm using all that speed by building a better home lab of course.

Some of the projects I'll be exploring might include:
* Segmented lab networks for testing and learning
* Self-hosted services such as personal cloud storage and backups
* Hosting small web projects from home
* Experimenting with legacy and niche operating systems and access those from my mobile!
* Network security and penetration-testing labs

Great, yet more cool projects to blog about.  Oh, and I should probably explain how I'm going to keep my landline number as well, apparently all copper lines will be gone next year.  Don't worry though I've got you covered, the kit I'm going to use is already specified and ready to order and I'll post all about it so you can read all about it here.
